2Samuel 23:10 He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the LORD wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil. This is one of the greatest thoughts and truths that I can think of in the Christian life. Don’t quit! Here we find one of David’s mighty men. He is in the battle. He is alone. Things look desperate! What does he do! He stands. He fights. He waits on God! I want to challenge you today. I know that you find yourself in a desperate situation. It seems that there are more enemies than help. It seems like a battle you can never win. You honestly feel like there is no way out of the mess you are in. If you find yourself there then I want to challenge you to know that God is at work in your life. He will never leave you or forsake you. Hebrews 13:5 Whenever temptation comes He will also make a way for you to escape, a way for you to have victory 1Corinthians 10:13 Stand up and fight your enemies. I know that today they are spiritual enemies. I know that it might be sin like pornography, pride, covetousness, discouragement, or whatever. You need to stand and fight. I hear you now saying that you have been but he fought until his hand grew weary. He fought until his hand stuck to the sword because he was so tense, so long. The beauty in this verse is that he stood, he fought, he got tired, but before the verse is over God won the victory. The same story is waiting on you. He stands ready to give you victory. I have been where you are. You can win. You are a winner already because you are a new creature. Don’t quit!
