Exodus 36:2 Â and every wise hearted man, in whose heart the LORD had put wisdom, even every one whose heart stirred him up to come unto the work to do it:Â
This verse is found in the middle of the preparations for the Tabernacle. God had instructed them to build a Tabernacle to worship and honor Him! God would never command us to do something that He would not provide all that we need.Â
He gave them wise hearted, smart, talented people that could do the work that He had commanded them to do. He then stirred them up. He gave them both the ability and the desire to do His service.
He put the wisdom in them and He stirred them up because it was His work for His purposes for His glory.
Now that brings us to the cause of world evangelism and the church today. The same God who had His people build the Tabernacle is the God who has commanded us to take the gospel into all the world.
He puts the desire and the ability in us to do His will. Some of you will be gifted to do children’s work, others teach adult classes, others sing and make music that will glorify Him. He gave you those abilities to use for Him.
The question is are you listening to His working in your heart. You know what gifts and abilities that He has given you. You know whether or not you are using what He gave you for His honor and glory or not.
Don’t waste the precious work of God in your life!
Exodus 36:5 Â The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the LORD commanded to make.Â
Now just a little further down in the chapter you find this verse. Not only were there gifted people but God also gave all that was needed to accomplish His work.Â
The people came bringing what God gave them and they had more than enough.Â
I believe with all of my heart that God has given us in our church all that we need to accomplish His purposes for our church and its ministry.
He has given the gifted, talented people. He has blessed our people with enough money and things to get the job done. All that is lacking is that desire.
Is God stirring up your heart? Do you want to be used for something bigger than yourself? Has God given you the ability to make money? Is He stirring up your heart?
You may feel very differently than most people. You may not understand why you hunger so much for the things of God, why you have a desire to serve and give but remember-it is God stirring you up!
I tell you that Vision Baptist has more than enough to evangelize our community, send the gospel to the world, plant churches here and there, get a building, pay off our debt-you name it.
He has given us the people with the means; both financially and talents to honor His name. It is now up to us to respond to His stirrings in our hearts!
