Acts 13:1 Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. Acts 13:2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. Acts 13:3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.We will be having a send off service for Chris and Andria Gardner before they return to Peru on February 4th. The special service will be on January 18, 2009 at 6 pm. I hope you will make plans now to be there. I also wanted to ask you to see if you would like to participate in fasting for them like you see in the Bible passage above. I would like to send them off as we fast and pray for them. I would like to make this a custom here at our church every time we send people off. So here is the question to you, Will you fast and pray for them? There are several options: 1. Just that day, Sunday, do not eat until after the service and spend extra time in prayer for them! 2. Eat your last meal on Saturday as a lunch and then go 24 hours to a little over praying for them and eat after the service on Sunday evening. I will at minimum be doing this option. 3. Pray and fast for them for even longer than this. If you are willing to participate in this I would like to ask you to email me, call me, or post a comment here and make this a big thing. Let’s beg God to use them as they return to the field. If you have any more ideas about how to make their send off service very special please let me know.
