Genesis 42:28 … What is this that God hath done unto us?This verse is the response of one of Joseph’s brothers when he found his money in the sack of grain as they stopped for the night! The verse jumps off of the page at me because of the attitude that the question exhibits! They didn’t say look what someone has done to me or look what is happening to me. The question wasn’t which of the Egyptians did this to me but rather-What is this that God hath done unto us! I would have been seconding guessing everyone-trying to find a place or person to blame but not these men! They knew that God was at work in their lives. How much better to go straight to the source and ask the cause of the problem! What about beginning to see God’s hand at work in different events of our lives. I sometimes wonder if God is basically left for the week ends or special times when we consider that maybe God wants to deal with us. Could it be that He is at work in something like money returned to a sack of grain? The challenge today is to to trust that God is at work, there are no accidents, and even down to money returned in an unusual manner we look to God. Would you learn to look to Him and ask what He wants, what He is trying to do in your life? Could you decide not to look for coincidences but God moving? Also consider that these men had sinned and covered up their sin. God is at work! He has a plan and is moving in their lives. If you are His then watch for what He is doing!
