(Above is a video of a girl who has an incredible knowledge of the world. it must be important to her parents.)
If something is important to you than you study it. Robert Canfield and Ryan Murphy can tell you all about Fantasy football. Mark Coffey can tell you all about the McDonald’s menu (for those of you who do not know, he loves McDonalds). Michelle Preston can tell you all about the housing market. Philip can tell you all about the book of Romans, Mark Tolson can tell you all about China. New mothers can tell you all about their new babies. Well, you see where I am going with this.
Jacob Taube stated very clearly and deliberately at our missions conference that “we give to what we love”. I would like to add to that and say we study what we love!
I am so proud to be part of a church that has people all over the world this week. We had teams leave out for Peru and Portugal on Monday. We already had a member in the Philippines. Every day we have 3 families from our church living in a foreign country. It really is a great testimony to what is important to us as a church.
Tomorrow morning I have the great opportunity to teach World Geography at the Our Generation Training Center for 3 hours. There is one great lesson we have learned.. that there is so much around the world we do not know. There are countries we have hardly ever heard of, people groups we have never prayed for, and problems around the world we have never been concerned about.
“For God so the world He gave His only Son..” God loves the world so it should be very important to us. I offer a challenge to help us do this. This week we are praying for Pakistan at the church. If you learn something about it, please email me at Trent@visionbaptist.com. I will compile the information into a later blog post.
