35 years ago today God blessed me with my greatest earthly blessing. I was married to Lelia Elizabeth (Betty) Ferguson. I had no idea what a wonderful blessing I was getting. I loved her with all of my heart but I was just a boy and she was just a girl. Over the last 35 years we have experienced a lot of life. We have had rough and tough times and times of great laughter and fun.
We have been allowed to raise 4 children see them married and all serving God. We now have 10 grandchildren. We have served God in 2 states, 7 US churches, 3 countries, and countless trips. We have had the privilege of having some of God’s most used missionaries in our home to fellowship with and love. We have been blessed.
Betty has been my life companion and friend. She has been there. She is my life. She is the person that I feel most relaxed with and she is the person that I most want to please.
Betty, I want you to know today that I love you and thank God for you. I want you to know that if I were to be taken to Heaven today I have lived a full and wonderful life and after the Lord it is all due to you. Thank you for being the most wonderful friend and companion that a man could have. Thank you for making these the most wonderful years of my life.
I think that when I married you I really began to live. I love you and I thank God for you.

Congratulations for 35 years of marriage. I praise the Lord for the wonderful life of ministry he has allowed ya’ll to live and experience together. What an impact you have made as a couple to countless numbers of young people. May God bless you.

Thanks to both of you for your kind comments. When we went out to eat yesterday at Outback the waiter and the manager acted like 35 years was some more accomplishment. They gave us a free dessert!!
