Revival!

I so desperately want God to move in our midst. I want to see Him taking control of our lives. Revival is really not about God reaching more lost people but rather about us, His church, hungering for Him like we should.

Our love grows cold! Our desire for Him and His word may not be what it was. I want us to be passionately in love with Him and His causes.

The truth is that we will not have revival because we have a preacher coming or Philip does a good job with the music. We will have revival because God works in our hearts and we really get right with God.

We need God to convict us of our sin and to work in our lives. I hope you are asking Him for that. Ask Him to move and work.

God can send revival. We can be more used of Him as a church! He can impact our community through our church but we must have Him working in and through us. I hope you are praying for revival. I hope that God is showing Himself to you in special ways in these days.

If God has done something I would love to hear from you and know what God is doing. Tonight we will have some special prayer time after the service and during the service begging God to work in our lives. Don’t miss this last chance for us to publicly get ready for revival.

Well on a more personal note, Chris Gardner came through on his way back to Peru from Mexico. God really used him in Mexico and he learned a ton. God is doing a great work in Mexico in the ministry of Kevin Wynn and Chris has been filling me in on everything. I pray God continues to use Brother Wynn. I am always excited to learn of the great things that God is doing around the world through His people.

Please pray for me as Friday I fly to Boston to be with the Arabic Bible Outreach Ministry for the their board meeting. I am excited about the way that they are being used of God to get the gospel to Muslims. I will get to talk to them about the coordination between Project North Africa, our church and them as we work together to reach the lost.

  1. This came in from Holly Pearson via email.

Good Morning! (in response to the blog)

Yesterday (the day we were fasting and praying) was an amazing time for me! To spare you, I’ll just give you the condenced version of a few of the things that blessed me.

    1. Philippians 2:14-15, “do all things with out murmurings and disputing” “ye shine as lights in the world” I really need that one from time to time at work!

    2. I was reminded to let things go or I cant move forward. Philippians 3:13 “…forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those which are before” all I could say is WOW, Paul was in prison, and still understood that you cant move forward until you just Get over it!

    3. Philippians 4:6 really casued me to remember how I need to be praying “with prayer and supplication” I looked up supplication, and one of the definitions is “humble prayer” so no more “Lord, help me through this one Amen” prayers for me!

    4. Im not a citizen of this world!!! (funny how I forget that Im just passing through) Philippians 3:20 “for our conversation is in heaven…” That was a great thought!

    5. I loved how Philippians 4:12 is worded “in all things I am instructed to be both FULL and HUNGRY” something I found to be improtant for Revival.

    6. I was shown just how important it is to encourage the man of God. Philippians 4:15-17 “…no church communicated with me…but ye only.” “…ye sent once again unto my necessity” It must have made a big impact on Pauls life for him to have mentioned it.

So I think Im going to stop with that, but I just wanted to let you know, that I was so blessed by our time of fasting and prayer as a church, and I am so excited to see what the Lord has already done through our lives, and what He will do next week!

I am so proud of you and the way that God is working in your life. Your comment alone makes it very worth while to have had the day. God also worked greatly in my life and all that I can do is thank Him.
