Well the reality is hitting me. Larry and Chae Hess are leaving for California today. I just dropped by to say a final good bye and to pray with them one last time. They have been a tremendous blessing to us and though Chae was mostly in California Larry has just been one of those men that you could count on. When we did something he was there. He helped. He prayed. He invited his friends. Larry you and Chae have been more than a blessing to us you have been and are family.
We will miss you very much! I pray that God continues to bless you and your business and all that you do in California. I do selfishly pray that someday God will bring you back here to stay but regardless I will always cherish your friendship.
This has made he harsh reality come to live and be true for us. 15% of the US moves every year. That means in 6 to 9 years we will just about be changing congregations. We just have to love and enjoy the people God sends to us while they are here.
We lost Kitty and Karla Stephens as they moved back to Wisconsin and now we are losing the Hess family as they move back to California but they were both real blessings while they were here.
Now there is a lesson to all of us at Vision Baptist in this post. We know that God will send people in and we know that God will take people out. We must pray and work to replace those who will naturally be leaving our church as they move on in their lives. Others will be leaving. As hard as that is we have to be ready for it. So we will just enjoy every service that God gives us to worship together and trust Him to take care of the rest.
I know that God will be bringing new people to John’s Creek, Alpharetta, Cumming, Roswell, Milton, Duluth, Gainesville, Dunwoody, Forsyth County, Fulton County, Cherokee County and many more places on the Northside. He will send us new people but we too must be working to get the gospel out and to invite others to come and be part of all that He is doing here in Vision Baptist.
I can’t end this post without reminding you to invite some friends for tomorrow morning and to pray for me that God will give me the message and help me to deliver it in the best possible way with His power. Pray for the Sunday School teachers, the musicians, the ushers, greeters, nursery workers, children’s church and all the others that make every Sunday a reality.
I love you guys and pray for you regularly. I thank God for each of you. Pray also for Christmas on the Northside as we make the final preparations and invite all of our friends and neighbors to come and participate with us.
