82 in the service and a look at the Day of Pentecost added up to an interesting evening. Our study through the book of Acts is going to be an exciting time in the Word of God. I was also excited to hear of people talking to others about their salvation because no decision or anything in life is as important as knowing for sure that you are going to Heaven.
Tonight we heard a testimony and saw some pictures of David Lundy and his ministry in Burkina Faso. We saw him teaching children, Keith Shumaker baptizing, and David riding an alligator. Now you know that when you miss a Sunday night service at Vision you never know what you are missing.
It was great to see God’s people on their faces asking Him for power to carry the gospel message to the children of our VBS this week. I hope that you will be praying as we ask God to let us see children saved every night this week.
Several of our people who are crucial to the ministry were away this week and I want them all to know that I really appreciate every one of them and look forward to their being back in their ministries this week. David Velke has been gone to Africa now for several weeks and will return on Wednesday. I am really looking forward to having him back.
I got this letter from Keith Shumaker where David Lundy and David Velke have been. I think it speaks highly of your church and the ministry that each of you have.
I just wanted to let you know that it was a great blessing to have two of your members here in Burkina Faso. Bro. David Lundy has been a great friend to me. He calls often and is always concerned with what is going on in our family and ministry. He did a tremendous job teaching the kids and also teaching the adults. Our people talked much about his love for the kids and his love for God. They called both Davids men of God.
I also wanted to share about Bro. David Velke. He preached for us a total of four times. He did a tremendous job each time. I asked him if he got his outline from somewhere else. His outlines were very well put together and thought out. Our people were greatly challenged. One lady said just this morning that he did a really great job and that he had a great vision. They were impressed that a 19 yr old was being used of God like that. This is a great testimony to you as well. There is an obvious reason why they saw a vision in him. It is because another man with a vision inspired him.
We appreciate all that you have done for us and look forward to your visit in January.
Thank you Brother Keith and thank you to both Davids.
