North/West Africa Update

Well my excursion around Africa has brought me to Burkina Faso. We (Bro. David Lundy and I) got in very early yesterday morning safely and were overjoyed to see Bro. Keith Shumaker. We’ve been running full steam already and it’s been exciting! Here’s something Bro. Keith wrote about it so far:

We are having a great time. Bro. David Lundy is doing great and has been a real blessing. We will try to get you some pictures tomorrow afternoon. We had a very busy day. We had a special church dedication today in our village work called Roungo. We had around 300. Bro. David Lundy had about 170 kids that he taught. We slept under the stars in the village which is out in the middle of nowhere. We had a great time. We have two services tomorrow morning and one tomorrow night.
God Bless,

P.S. We did construction work in the village also. We painted the building, painted an image and built benches.

Looking forward to tomorrow and visiting more churches. I’m praying for my home church, please pray for me. God’s been working hard on me these last couple of weeks.

  1. What a privilege to be the pastor of two Davids like you both. I thank God for you and I am so very proud that God is using you. I thank God for using you. I want you to know that we are praying for you and can’t wait to see you. Please give Keith our love.

  2. What was the image that was painted that was mentioned in your North/West Africa update? I am guessing that there was some kind of Catholic image that was painted over, and not some new image that was painted. When I was in Togo last summer, I saw a huge black magic presence, but I didn’t see much in the way of images on walls. However, there were a multitude of idols on display in shops, villages and outside the walls of people’s houses, including many that were covered in animal sacrifice blood. Creepy. And very sad. And very motivating!
