Thank you, Dad!

June 16, 2007 By Austin Gardner Leave a Comment

I am just about to go to bed to be ready for Sunday morning at the most wonderful church in the world and I was thinking about how good God has been to me. He gave me a wonderful dad. As long as I remember he has been an honest, diligent, hard working man.

I thank God for the privilege of being born into a family that knew, believed and practiced the gospel. I have always been taken to church. Dad got saved just before I was born. He quickly learned the Bible and how to honor and serve God. As a boy I learned to tithe and be a giver. As a boy I learned to work and work hard. I learned to pay my bills, keep my word, and try to raise a family for the honor and glory of God.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to say a special thank you to my dad for raising me in church–literally being the most faithful family in the church, teaching me to work, being faithful to my mother, his wife and teaching me to love God.

Dad, thank you for all that you have done for me over the last 52 years. Thank you for being an example. Thank you for teaching me to love God. Thank you for having us in church. Thank you for being a man of character. On this Father’s Day I just wanted to tell you that I love you and thank God for you!
