Pearson’s trip to Ireland

John Pearson sent me this small update on their trip to Ireland.

Londonderry is a city of about 200,000 in Northern Ireland that has seen more than its share of wars and fighting over the last 100 years.  Isaiah 60:18 says “Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders, but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation and thy gates Praise.”  This is the prayer that we prayed with Travis and Terry Snode, missionaries to Northern Ireland as we sat and looked over the city of Londonderry.  We found the people warm and polite, but the obvious remnants of a long religious war marked the city.  We enjoyed tremendous fellowship with the Irvine family and one of Travis’ neighbors Paul Little while Travis smoked up the neighborhood with his infamous bar-b-que grill.  The Northwest Baptist Church is in its infancy stages but was a blessing to my family and I.  There will be  tremendous opportunities for Businessmen to get involved in the ministry in Northern Ireland and help the Snodes establish a ministry in Londonderry that can reach the entire United Kingdom.  Continue to pray for Travis, Terry and Grant Snode in Ireland.
