Birthplace: My name is Mario Richard Roca Fabian. I am 29 years old. My parents are Sabino and Maria. I have two brothers: Jose and Carlos. I am married with one son named Roberto. I moved here the 26 of June in 1976 to the city of Arequipa. I live in the department of Arequipa, Peru.
How I came to know Christ: From my childhood I was a catholic. I went to my church every Sunday until I was 24 years old. I was involved in drunkenness to the point that I would drink every day. I lived a very independent life from my family. I started working with one of my aunts that went to the iglesia baustista of Paucarpata. It was there that they started to talk to me about Christ. But I had a very hardened heart. But one day I heard a tape where bro. Tony Howeth was preaching and he was talking about the love of God. And he was saying that when no one loved you and everyone hates you, there is always someone that loves you and that is Jesus Christ. And then I read a verse in Psalms 27:10, this is what changed my life. And that is why I went to the church to hear the preaching, and once again I heard about the love of Christ. And one night in May 2001 in my bedroom, I trusted Jesus Christ as my savior.
How God changed my life: From that moment Jesus Christ changed my life and gave me courage to quit drinking alcohol and not be living in the street. I fixed my relationship with my family and I started to see that God had a purpose for me.
My calling: It was three years after I was saved in January 2004, that there was an evangelistic conference that God used to call me into the ministry. I told God that I would give him my mother and my son and that I would trust him. And that is how I went to the seminario bautista Macedonia. I had heard that they prepared you there to serve God and I had seen that great men of God had graduated from there. At the seminary they teach you with great love the doctrines of Jesus Christ and how to be a prophet of God. They teach you how to do ministries and how to leave as a servant of God to change this world with the surrender of my life in the presence of God in my life.
Future plans: I'm going to work in my home church until I graduate from the seminary. Then I will start a church in my Jerusalem- Arequipa. I want to grow my church and I want them to be a missionary church that fulfills the great commission. I'm praying about Israel because they need to hear about Christ as well. |
