Birthplace: My name is Juan Mamuel Huamani Quilca and I was born in the city of Arequipa , Peru . My parents are Eulodgio Huamami Zinanyuca and Ojelia Maximiliani and I have four brothers, Gloria Huamani Quilco and Elias
How I came to know Christ: When I was twelve years old my relationship with my parents was extremely indifferent. My dad was part of the Jehova witnesses, which is the religion that all my family was a part of. We would go for months to their meetings, and we were receiving biblical teaching and my father continued to get more and more into this religion. There were problems however, and my mother didn't want to go to the church anymore. Because the people that went to that church lived in a very austentatous way. The way that they would dress was very strange, and they would always analyze us from head to toe to see if we were dressed correctly and little by little my mom started getting tired of all of it. A little afterwards, my father because of work, had to retire. We lived normal like any normal family, I never thought that my home would be destroyed. Until my parents separated when I was fourteen years old. Until I was 17 years old, I lived alone with a lot of bitterness and hate and I would hurt other people and curse them. At 17 years of age, I lived with friends that drank, and smoked and I started getting more and more involved in the things my friends did, such as sex and drunkenness. I went ot my mothers house cause she had started to work and she was able to take care of me. She went to the catholic church with my brothers, but I never did because I thought it was strange. I started getting involved in the Behi faith, and I started studying with them. One day when I was teaching, a young person came to my house and he invited me to go to a Baptist church. So I went to a young peoples meeting to debate with them. And since the church was right in front of my house, I decided to go. The fifth of December I received Christ and I started to live in another way.
How Christ has changed my Life: I started becoming encouraged to serve although it was difficult and it was a great struggle for me to go to church.
My Calling into the Ministry: I was called when I truly saw the need of other people that want to search for God but don't know the correct way. Once I got more integrated in the church my pastor commented to me that there was a seminary that prepared men who wanted to serve God more. He asked if I wanted to serve god full time and I told him yes. But before I was baptized and I went through six months of training before I could come to the seminary. The seminary is important because it is an institute for preparation.
My Plans for the Future: I desire to be a great missionary so that other people would hear the gospel. I want to take the gospel to all the world. |
