Birthplace: My name is Juan Chavez, and my wife and I have 3 daughters. My wife's name is Antonia Huachaca. My parents are from the rural area of the city of Cusco , in the district of Mollepata in the Retiso Annex.

How I came to know Christ: I received Christ through my distant cousin's inviting me to the Independent Baptist church, with Pastor Estevan. Later I went to Lima , the capital of Peru . Though I worked in the church, I did not understand God's purpose for my life because I had problems.

How Christ has changed my life: I felt peace and joy in my heart and started to love my father. I also started seeking God through the Bible and the church, but there was a time when I was apart from God. When I was 14 years old, I restarted attending church and living for the Lord and the church. God has touched my heart to serve him.

My Calling into the Ministry: His call was very strong, and I found a church in Lima where I could work. It had a sign that said Matthew 11:28. Through this verse, God showed me that I needed to reconcile with Him. So, through suffering and desperation I grew close to God. I wanted God, if He could, to use me. I also made things right with my family after about 10 years. I was able to see my family in as many years, and they recognized me. After visiting my father, I returned to the city of Arequipa to live in the village of Cono Norte , and I attended the Victory Baptist Church with Pastor Ronald Tubillas. Through the ministry of this pastor God called me to go to the Macedonia Baptist Seminary, and I am living by faith. I don't have a steady job, but my daughter is able to study, thanks to the help of brothers in the Lord.

My Plans for the Future: I want to have a Quechuan ministry (a ministry to the Indians, here in Peru ) to the people in the rural areas of the country; and with God's help, I want to be able to go to the cities of my people. I am praying for and have a burden for my people who speak Quechuan.
