Birthplace: My name is Freddy Paz and I was born in September 14th, 1895. My parents were Luis Paz and Guamerinda Huamani. I have 3 older brothers: Jose Luis (26), Luis Alberto (23), Vanessa (21) and a younger brother Jimmy (12).

How I came to know Christ: My family was always catholic and often used to celebrate mass. Since I was a little boy I saw how my father drank alcohol, a problem that brought constant fighting in my house and I was very close to my mom instead of my dad. My brother went to live in Arequipa , and I kept a lot of bitterness toward me because I was put in charge of the house, which was sometimes unfair for me. Once I finished high school, (at 17). My friend John Merma shared the gospel with me, but I didn't paid attention. Although pastor Juan Pacheco told me about Jesus and the huge love He has for me, it wasn't until he showed me a brochure dealing with some of my personal problems I understood only God would have the solution for me. I didn't accept Him at that moment but later on at my house I asked Him for salvation, forgiveness for my sins, and to show me His will concerning what God had prepared for me. Now half of my family is saved, and regularly assist the “Iglesia El Faro”, my father isn't saved but I hope one day the rest of my family will be. God's work hasn't stop and I'm working to make God's many promises true.

How Christ has changed my life: Since then my life has changed completely, I had never worn a tie until I did that first Sunday. I held my Bible and was different. At the beginning my family made fun of me because they thought I had not changed. In the 5th Youth Congress God spoke clearly to me about my future and it was stimulating for me. My father did not want me to go church so he put obstacles telling me things like who is going to feed you, what are you going to study, etc. Nevertheless I spent more time with my pastor and learned from him during my first 5 months of my brand new life. It was beautiful. God worked in my heart about world need, and to evangelize all nations. My home church has grown. In a place where there are so many lost people, a place full of sin and evilness, God's power has become so clear and real. He works now and his power has not being reduced.

My Calling into the Ministry: In the Youth Congress I heard God's calling to the ministry. He touched my heart concerning the need of the world. Later I assisted to the 5th Youth Congress where my calling got stronger. In the 2004 year I enrolled in the Seminary, first as a free student and the next semester as a regular student preparing to the missionary field. The seminary has been the most wonderful thing that has ever happened in my life since my salvation. I met people that love God, received a new home, older and younger brothers with whom I shared and grown spiritually. The Lord had shown me many things and I experienced the power of prayer, waiting and God's faithfulness. This is the perfect place to prepare ourselves to become Christ's soldiers.

My Plans for the Future: I wish to help in the “Iglesia Bautista El Faro”, Lighthouse Baptist Church . Meanwhile I'm still studying in the Seminary. After graduation I would like to start working in the north of Peru . I still don't know where exactly but it is in my heart to work in the city of Chimbote . I'm praying for God's direction. I know I want to be an evangelistic missionary, tell everyone in my way about salvation in Christ. Share the big privilege of being God's son to whoever does not know Him.
