This Tuesday….

I am very excited about this Tuesday.  Its hard to explain even.  I am sure you have heard that the Bible “has all the answers to life’s problems”……I want to see them.

  • If God is really real, why don’t I see what He supposedly does??
  • Where did all these different religions come from and is there any truth in them??
  • How could I explain to my friend what the “Gospel” is??
  • How do I make sense of this big, long, book??
For so long I just wanted to be able to understand that Big Book.  It intimidated me.  I would think, “Where does the preacher get all that stuff he says on Sundays?” and  ”I don’t see all that stuff when I read it!  Either he has some special connection with God, or he is good at making up stuff to say!”

Then I had some people that helped me begin to make sense of it all.  Instead of just a million pages, I began to see the structure, organization, divisions of it!  I began to be able to read with more understanding and it began to make even more sense!

It is the absolute most exciting thing to see the truth brought to life before you.  To make a connection, to have the pieces fall together.  It is wonderful.  I am not even kidding.

I could learn computer science, but it will be outdated in 5 years.  I could learn how to make more sales, but it just wouldn’t do much!  But, when I learn, understand and apply real, concrete, Bible truths I am transformed!  My mind is renewed, my heart can have joy, and my faith is tempered.

It is when I truly taste and see that the Lord really is as good as He promised.

The Bible is THE way that God has spoken to us and communicated what He is like, don’t you want to understand??  I do.

My absolute favorite book in the Bible is Romans.  It is the most comprehensive and clear explanation of  God and salvation.  When you understand it, the whole Bible comes to life.  That is why we are going to take these 8 weeks and really “Dive” into this book.

If you are a Christian, these truths will ignite your heart!  It cannot be any other way, God has given us His Spirit and His Word for every situation and He will always use it in the heart of His children!

Tuesday Night Dive is really only for the person who just has a hunger to know Him and His Word.  If you come with that attitude I promise you will love it.  It is truth, and lots of it.

We will have notes, notebooks, discussions, food, some fellowship and music, but it will be a time where our hearts are enflamed with that magnificent truth that brought us salvation!

This Tuesday at 7pm.

Love your excitement Phil, always a blessing and a challenge! Keep up the good work, you are contagious. Doesn’t mean I’ll buy a Mac of course, but I might just love Romans more.
