We were able to hear a great message from Pastor Ronald tonight about the need to turn to God. It is the most important thing you can do. Several people gave testimony of how Pastor Ronald has helped them grow in the Lord and of the influence he has had on so many lives. Thank you, Pastor Ronald, for your faithful service, zeal for God, and love for the ministry. God has blessed us greatly by giving you to our church. May you have many more years to serve the Lord!

Thursday night, Pastor Gardner delivered a powerful and convicting message from the life of Christ. While Jesus was at the feast in the temple, He began to teach the people. But His teachings were radical. They called for extreme actions that many of the people didn’t like. The Bible says that Jesus caused a division among the people. A division is not a nice, clean divide. It is a a brutal tearing, a ripping apart. Jesus was ripping apart the very fabric of Jewish society and he wasn’t doing it in a very politically correct way. Pastor taught that when a person decides to follow Jesus, it will divide them from the world and their friends, maybe even their family. But that is the price to pay. Following true doctrine also causes division. Any person who lives out the truths the Bible teaches will be divided from so many others. Dedication to the cause of Christ and religion also cause division. But a main point of division, of fighting, is the exclusivity of Jesus Christ. There is no other way to get to heaven, but through Jesus Christ. Nothing or no one else can save you. This may offend nearly the entire world, but it is truth.

How boldly have you been standing for the truth? Or, better put, how boldly have you been standing for Jesus Christ? Has fear hindered you from telling your family and friends about who Jesus is? Is your personal position and standing more important than the gospel of Jesus Christ? This church is so thankful for a pastor who declares the truths of God’s Word without fear of being politically correct. If you were unable to hear this great message Thursday night, visit sermonaudio.com to hear this message and many others.

We look forward to seeing you Sunday morning at 9:30 for Sunday School!

Sunday Morning

Diving straight into John chapter seven, Pastor talked about the dangers Jesus faced as He lived out His mission on this Earth. Some Jews wanted to make him king. Others wanted to kill him. Even his own brothers didn’t believe in what he was doing. It seemed that everyone had an agenda for what they wanted Jesus to do. But despite all the danger, all the pressure, all the fear, Jesus continued to boldly do exactly what he came to earth to do. At Christmas time, you may see family member who are not saved. You may be tempted to hid your faith to avoid ridicule. The dangers and fear you face this Christmas among your family and friends may be enough to force you to forsake what God gave you to do. But remebmer Christ and his boldness in danger and follow his example. If you would like to listen to this convicting message, visit http://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=121111238116

Sunday Night

Everything went great with Christmas on the Northside! We had several visitors and everyone had a great time enjoying the delicious food, drinks, and fellowship. Because of the evangelistic, Christmas appeal of the night, Pastor brought a powerful message entitled, “What will you do with the sent one?” Continuing in John seven, he showed how Jesus, on many occasions, mentions that he was sent by the father for a specific task: to save the world from their sins. Now, it is the responsibility of every person to decide what they are going to do with this sent one. There were those who hated Jesus and wanted him gone. Others thought Jesus was a good guy, but wanted nothing to do with him. But others truly believed on Jesus and accepted him as Lord. Which are you? To hear the full message, visit http://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=1212112326143. It will be a challenge to you!

We look forward to seeing you on Thursday at 7:00 pm!

Missionary Updates:

It was great to hear from several different missionaries last night, including Wayne Cooke, Chris Fies, Kyle Shreve, Mark Coffey, David Gardner, and Jason Holt. We also had a special guest appearance by John Pearson, who just returned from a trip to Peru and the Bible college down there. There were several students who graduated from the college this month. One of the students was the son of a Peruvian pastor who was saved and trained in the ministry. Each missionary was able to give good reports from their field and asked for certain prayer request. Please continue to pray for:

All the missionaries this Christmas, as they will be missing their families.

The missionaries who are on deputation, that they will continue to get meeting.

The missions conference in Chile.

Jeff Bush’s Church that was broken into

Medical trip to Peru in 2012

The Peruvian Bible College and Hunter School

Bible Message

While you might not know everything to expect at Vision, one thing you can count on every service is a message based on Biblical truths alone. The message last night, continuing through the book of John, was about John 6:60-71: True Disciples. As thousands flocked to Jesus, Jesus realized that these people weren’t true disciples. They were people who wanted their needs met and pleasures fulfilled. As Jesus stood facing the multitude, he gave them several hard statements to obey: “You have to eat my flesh and drink my blood.” Because of these hard sayings, almost everyone left Him. Only the true disciples remained. Pastor Gardner talked about the importance of Christians standing strong for the truth. He taught that flesh has no profit, especially in Salvation. The only way to have life is through the work of the Spirit. He also mentioned that true Christians are true disciples. You cannot be one without the other. A true disciple loves and follows Jesus above everything else. Because following Jesus is not a flippant matter. Pastor closed with two convicting questions: Are you in and are you a true disciple? If you were unable to attend, you can visit http://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=128112248316 to hear this powerful message!
We look forward to seeing you at 9:30 am Sunday morning for Sunday School and at 10:30 am for the Morning Service!

We invite you to apply. Please read over the Intern Application and the Vision Baptist Ministry descriptions carefully. Ministry descriptions can help you determine your areas of interest and assist you in making an informed decision about which ministries might fit your qualifications. Interns will be selected based on their application and demonstrated interest in spiritual service.

Applicants must be:

At least 18 years of age on or before the first day of the internship

Completed application materials must be submitted to Trent Cornwell, Intern Coordinator in the offices of Vision Baptist Church, at trent@bcwe.org.

Upon acceptance, candidates must consent to a background check prior to their start date. All background checks are confidential and intended to protect the intern as well as the ministry of Vision Baptist Church.

Again, thank you for your interest in the Vision Baptist Internship Program. We look forward to hearing from you.
