There is always a lot going on at Vision Baptist Church without a doubt! I would also say that much of it revolves around world evangelism or missions. One of the very special things that we do every year is called the Summit. As a team of missionaries we began holding this very special conference to try and inspire and motivate everyone to take the next step in their part of world evangelism.
The Summit has evolved into a meeting that is like a winter retreat for the entire church with a special emphasis on fulfilling God’s will for our life. You can get all the information at this site by simply clicking on these words.
The Our Generation Summit is an annual gathering in Gatlinburg, TN, of Christians with a heart for world missions. Pastors and missionaries, teachers and students, businessmen and families join for three days to address the needs of a world waiting for the Gospel.
Located once again at the beautiful Music Road Hotel in the center of action-packed Pigeon Forge, the OG Summit provides a fantastic venue for any church or youth group seeking an easy-to-organize winter retreat filled with excitement and passion for Christ.
One of the most exciting missionaries in the world today is a friend of ours that works in Northern Africa. He and his wife are learning Arabic. They are living in hostile circumstances, with intense pressure from Muslims to convert to Islam. Rather than get converted to Christ the Muslims are trying to convert the missionaries.
Their son has been know to wake up in his bed at 4:30 AM when he hears the call to prayer and cry and be afraid of what they are trying to do to him.
It is a beautiful country and they are beautiful people but without a doubt this young couple are living what only the missionary heroes of the past have lived.
They have seen people saved. They have been involved in preaching and teaching the people about Jesus. It is against the law yet they boldly proclaim the name of Jesus. They are heroes and you will get your chance to not only meet them and get to talk to them but you can ask questions and learn what it is like to go behind the closed doors of Muslim countries.
Click around on the page and learn all that you can. Plan to be with us. We will have a wonderful time in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge but more than that you will spend time with God’s heroes.
I really thank you for your interest in what God did in Peru with the medical clinic. I posted the updates from Chris just a couple of posts ago and so I wanted now to give you access to some pictures that they have posted.
Also I want you to know now that we plan on going to South Africa in the last week of March to have a major evangelistic campaign and to do another medical clinic. I hope that you will pray about being a part. Please contact me to indicate your interest. I would like to take doctors, optometrists, nurses, dentists, chiropractors, and any other type of medical professional possible. We will be able to make a major difference in the lives of people. I am waiting on you to let me know of your interest or the interest of your friend but you need to move quickly to get everything done.
Well we want to welcome Robert Canfield to the membership of Vision Baptist Church. Robert has already been a great blessing to our church over the time that he has been attending here. He is a student in the Our Generation Training Center. He feels that God would have him serve in missions. He will be marrying Kelly Perkins on October 27, 2007.
Please give him a big welcome and let him know how happy we are to have him as a member. We look forward to serving God with Robert for many years.
It is 10 pm and I just got home. It was a busy day today. This morning we had Bible study led by Jim Whitten. He talked about obedience to God’s call. It was a good start to our eventful day.
AM – went to the Children’s Home. My eyes truly affected my heart (Lam 3:51)
PM – helped out at the Medical Clinic. The Lord truly blessed today. A little over 700 people got to see the doctors, about 300 professions of faith. Amen, and amen!! Wish you all were here to share this moment with us. It was really a blessing to see hundreds and hundreds of people lined up outside the gates of the seminary waiting to be ministered to.
I’ll tell you more later. Please pray for all of us here…
This is just a short email but I hope you can hear her heart as she is serving God in Peru. I hope that others will take the time to write us a note but do not forget to pray. Trent Cornwell is preaching there every night.
If there ever was an hour in which the church needed courageous men of prophetic vision, it is now. Preachers and pastors? They can be turned out in our schools like automobiles off the assembly line. But prophets? Where are they?

I am in La Plata, Argentina with missionary Jeff Bush. God is really blessing and moving here and I am excited now about what God will do there at Vision with each of you.
In the morning Trent Cornwell will be preaching on the Two Debtors. I am already being allowed to see what God is doing in his heart and it is looking very good. Very few young men have been so touched and blessed as Trent. He is a tremendous man of God. I know of very few like him anywhere in the world. He is consumed with a love for God and a love for His causes and Kingdom. I challenge each of you to be there and to bring visitors to the service. It will be different but it will be as good or better than usual. I hope you will prove your love for God, His kingdom, and for His man, Trent by being in your place and bringing people to be with you.
Tomorrow night we will hear from Philip Bassham. I can’t tell you how much I love and appreciate Philip. He is truly a man of God with God’s great power on His life. He too is consumed with God and His greatness. I challenge you to be in your place and to bring some visitors. You will not be disappointed.
I can’t wait until tomorrow afternoon when I will listen to both of these messages via the pod casts. I know that God is going to work tomorrow. If we are going to reach the world we must pull together. We must show our maturity and not be like other churches. Many churches would see a great difference if the Senor Pastor were to be absence but I know that you are not regular people and that you will be in your place and carrying more of the load than on a normal day. I love you guys and I am praying for you.
I ask you to please pray for me also. I want God to use me to be a blessing to His people here.
We are happy to welcome Natasha Witt into the membership of Vision Baptist Church. She has been studying in the Our Generation Training Center now for about a year. She is a fine young lady and excited about serving God in every way that He opens for her. I hope you will give Natasha a very warm welcome.
This Monday at 6:30 pm we will be having our monthly fellowship meeting. It will be an exciting time as we hear from our future missionaries as they preach and share what God is doing in their lives. God is moving in the lives of these young men and women and I believe that you will miss a real blessing if you are not able to be with us.
