What an incredibly special night tonight was at Vision! We as a church got the chance to honor our Pastor and Mrs. Betty in a surprise appreciation service.

For the past few months, Bro. Gardner has excitedly mentioned wanting to go bear hunting someday. Since we love our pastor very much, we wanted to make his dream come true, but we also wanted to equip him for the battle ahead while also keeping him safe. The adult Sunday school classes gave him camo, a set of buck knives, and various target practice devices. The teen class read a wonderful poem and gave Bro. Gardner candy bars for the hunting trip, while the singles class performed a hilarious skit of what just might happen on a bear hunting expedition. Mrs. Betty wasn’t forgotten, and she received a gift card that she could enjoy, while Bro. Gardner waits his bear out. Last but not least, we were able to give our pastor a Marlin 308.
The appreciation service included the presentation of these gifts and skits, as well as video testimonies from our missionaries on deputation and on the field, and testimonies from the men and women of Vision. After the evening service, the Gardners were presented with a meal and a cake (depicting another bear hunting scene) in their honor.
Thank you for being a man of God and a man of the Bible, Pastor Gardner! Thank you for teaching us to love Jesus and to have a heart for missions. We love you and Mrs. Betty very much and are so thankful to have you as our pastor’s family!
