Leviticus 4:27-28 And if any one of the common people sin through ignorance, while he doeth somewhat against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and be guilty; Or if his sin, which he hath sinned, come to his knowledge: then he shall bring his offering, a kid of the goats, a female without blemish, for his sin which he hath sinned.
When God was giving instructions about our sins and the sacrifices for our sins even sins in ignorance are mentioned. If we do wrong without knowing it there are still consequences. Sin had to be atoned for.
It is not just the intentional, willful, rebellion against God that is sin.
And sin, no matter the motivation, has consequences.
We can rejoice that Jesus paid the price for all of our sins. But knowing this we want to seek to know what pleases Him. We want to live out who we are and the new heart that He has put in us!
