incline your heart

Psalm 119:112 I have inclined mine heart to perform thy statutes alway, even unto the end.

The word inclined here means: to stretch out, to extend, to pay attention. It is used to speak of turning your heart and mind in a certain direction. It means to show love to someone.

Notice the psalmist turns his heart to perform the statutes. He doesn’t wait on a feeling. He doesn’t serve God because today he feels like it.

He made a conscious decision. He took steps. He loved instead of feeling love.

Have you inclined your heart to serve the God who saved you?
