Continual Feast!

Proverbs 15:15 All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.

What a promise, there is a way to have a continual feast. Christmas time is very special and one of the things everyone likes is all the banqueting, special meals, special feasts. The Word of God here tells us that a merry heart will cause us to have a continual feast.

Proverbs 15:13 tells that a merry heart will also cause us to have a happy face. The merry heart is also like medicine for us Proverbs 17:22.

What would be the steps to having this merry heart? Here are just a few to think about today because I know that all of us want the merry heart, the continual feast, the happy face, and the soul medicine.

To have a merry heart we will need a clear and clean conscience. Romans 2:15 We know if we are doing right or not. We know if we are pleasing God or not. We do not need anyone to tell us. If we know in our hearts things aren’t right we will not have the merry heart.

We must be convinced that God is always working everything out for our good. Romans 8:28-29. Otherwise circumstances are going to worry us and steal our joy. Unless we believe that He is in control our lives often appear to be out of control.

To have this merry heart we need to learn to count our blessings and to be happy with what God has given us. 1Timothy 6:6-10 and 1Corinthians 4:7. Everything that I have He has given me. Sometimes I forget to count what I have and I begin counting what I don’t have and what I want. That will leave me very unsatisfied.

There are many things that we could consider that would give us this merry heart but why not start right here today. Enjoy all that God has done for you.
