Thanksgiving

Dear Vision,

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times of the year. Done right it is about giving thanks to God. I love that. I am not really into the turkey day thing, the football and all that are ok but I really like to think about setting aside some time to just think and thank God.

We spend so much time asking God for things. We want Him to answer our prayers, meet our needs, and make us happy. We spend lots of time even complaining that things are not going as well as they should be going. We think not in terms of what we have but of what we are missing.

So I like the thought of setting aside a day to just say thank you. We were told to give thanks in everything but I am afraid we do not often do so. I would like to remind you to be very careful to spend some thanksgiving time this week. Why don’t you sit down and write how how God has blessed you. Make a thanksgiving list instead of a prayer request list. Think of things to praise God for rather than what to ask Him for.

This Tuesday night we will do just that. Our midweek service will be moved from Thursday to Tuesday evening. We will eat together and then we will thank God together. I hope you will get a list of things you just want to praise Him for publicly. I love to hear His people brag on how good He is to others.

So make your plans now. Be in at Vision early on Tuesday night. If you can make it to be ready to eat by 6:30 that would be great. Then we will just have a super special testimony worship time together.

I can’t wait to hear all that God has done in your lives.

God bless each of you. We love you very much. By the way, invite a friend to come and be with you.

Austin
