Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
Beware because men are trying to rob you of your salvation, of your relationship with Jesus Christ. Men have all sorts of opinions. They have developed tons of philosophies about God and salvation.
Paul warns them to be careful because they are being spoiled by philosophy, just pure deceit, traditions, basic rules, etc.
We lose the joy of our salvation because we turn it from grace of God to what we can and should do. Someone told us that God loves us according to what we do. Someone made us think of our God as a Mafia boss just looking for us to make a mistake so He could send someone to break our legs, cut off a finger, or kill us.
Simply not what the Bible says. It may be a good way for preachers to control us and get the desired actions but it is not what the Bible says. Be careful not to let them spoil you, rob you of your joy, turn serving God into a drudgery.
You received Jesus Christ and salvation by grace so continue to walk the same way. Colossians 2:6
There ought to be thanksgiving overflowing from our mouths. There will be when we understand what we have and what He did. We will not live trying to be loved and accepted but knowing that we are. Colossians 2:7
We are complete in Him Colossians 2:10 and though uncircumcised they were already circumcised in Him Colossians 2:11
We are alive, have overcome sin, and so no one can judge us about holy days, or other rituals Colossians 2:16
Don’t be pushed back into guilt Christianity and following a list of do’s and don’ts but rather rejoice in who you are in Christ Jesus. Colossians 2:21-23
