Never enough!

Ecclesiastes 5:10-11 He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity. When goods increase, they are increased that eat them: and what good is there to the owners thereof, saving the beholding of them with their eyes?

This verse would save us from a lot of wasted living! You can never be satisfied with money if you love it. The more you get the more you want. The more you get the more you need. You get money but what do you have? Men waste their lives trying to get more toys than the other man.

They love the money and the power that comes with it. They see money as an end when God meant it to be a tool. There is nothing wrong with having money if money doesn’t have you.

Our goal is to seek first His kingdom and to use all that He has given us for that purpose whether it be money, talents, or whatever. I challenge you to meditate on these verses. Work on your priorities today.

Your first thought is that you have to have money. You think that when you get just a little more, just one more toy that you will be satisfied. Another $1,000 and we will not have these problems and we can be happy.

But that is not what it says. Money should be result of what you do not what you seek. Money should be a tool to build and seek the kingdom of God not our own good or comfort.

Most of us have the disease of “never enough!” I hope God gives both of us victory over this sin today!
