Wow what an article! This makes two articles real close together that Philip Bassham has written that I think are just out of this world. I hope you will take the time to read it. We can all make a difference though we may not be the smartest or the sharpest we can do a little every day until little by little we get a lot done.
I am sure that all of you want to be used of God and just think that you can’t make that much of a difference but read below–you can!
plod [plod]
verb, plodâ‹…ded, plodâ‹…ding, noun
–verb (used without object)
1. to walk heavily or move laboriously; trudge: to plod under the weight of a burden.
2. to proceed in a tediously slow manner: The play just plodded along in the second act.
3. to work with constant and monotonous perseverance; Two kinds of Dreamers. Plodders and Wanderers.
Too often I think I am Plodding and realize that I have just Wandered.
The difference is the aim. Busyness, but no fruitfulness. Activity, but no Accomplishment.
Two kinds of Plodders. Detailed and Dreaming.
The Detailed Plodder burrows into the details and never looks up. But they are not very fruitful because they never bother to look where they are headed. They just do what is in front of them.
The Dreaming Plodder is always dreaming. Never comes down to reality, but has a million good ideas. He can talk forever and make anything sound exciting, but never plods in the details and accomplishes.
We have to be both.
The Dreaming/Detailed Plodder
One that will Dream Big and set out Plodding toward the Big Dream. William Carey’s life story…
“One thing…which came often into his mind, was the rule that for straight plowing the eyes must be set upon a definite mark.â€
You have to plod in the Details, but not neglect to plod in the Dreaming. We need to plod, but if we lose sight of the definite mark, we are again a busy Wanderer. You MUST plod toward a mark.
Inciting Enticing Ploddery
1. Be around Dreams and Dreamers.
Study accomplished Dreams. See how it started, where it is now, and how it got there. Study it until you understand the process.
Study an accomplished Dreamer. See where they started, where they are now, and who they had to BE to get there. Study until you understand their process. Because Ploddery is all about process.
But that is still terribly insufficient.
2. Get to know the Dream-Giving, Plod Director.
He is the God of the Purpose (the ‘dream’), the Process (plodding), and the Plodder (you). Every facet of Ploddery is not about you and your dream, it is about Him and His desire! When we love, obey, and know Him Plodding is Pleasure. When we don’t it is useless vanity.
Seriously, what is that all about? What do you dream about? A new car? A beautiful wife? For God’s sake, (literally) dream bigger! Dream of something immortal!
Be God’s plodder. In a single, God-given direction.

Great article! Truly enjoyed my visit with Philip and the Church.
