Our missionary wife, Teri Snode, is celebrating her birthday today.
Please pray especially for her. They are missionaries in Northern Ireland and we are blessed to have them serve as missionaries sent out from our church!
I arrived back in the states yesterday from Santiago, Chile. I had a wonderful and blessed time. God is really working in the lives of our missionaries there and their church and ministry.
I want to thank you for making it possible for me to make these trips. I want to thank Lori for being such a good host. I want to thank Jason for such a great job that he is doing in the ministry there. I thank the Holt kids for being so sweet. I thank the church for being great to work and fun to preach to.
I am very glad to be back home and getting back to work. Thank you to all of you for all that you do. God bless you
See you on Thursday, Lord willing!
Look forward to reports on the work in Chile, Argentina, Bolivia and Peru. It will be a great evening.
Just a note to wish John a very special Happy Birthday. Without John and his family Vision Baptist Church would not exist. I want to ask you to pray especially for them. They are on their way back now from Argentina. They had a great trip but as always these trips are very tiring.
Pray for God to bless John and his business that he has dedicated to the service of God for all of these years.
The following came in from Pastor Wayne Cofield about the people who went on the trip to South America. Please pray that God will continue to use this special trip in their lives:
The Mission Team had traveled via Bus from Arequipa, Peru to Lapaz Bolivia all day on Monday. Tried to get a few minutes of sleep on a cold floor in the airport . Line up at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday morning to catch a flight to Santa Cruz were they waited one hour and a half to load more passengers. Took off and arrived in Miami at 4:20 p.m. ran to next gate after getting through customs only to be pulled off the run way because of bad storms in Atlanta. Waited on the plane for two hours and finally arrived in Atlanta at 10:38 p.m. After finding all their luggage they arrived back at the church this morning at 2 a.m.
What amazed me about our team …not one complaint and they just were ecstatic over all the wonderful missionaries they had the opportunity to spend some time with . The Sonccos and the Whites really impressed them with their ministries and all their hospitality. I thank God for all the years that Bro. Austin Gardner invested in the work in Peru and the many hours of training that he also invested in training The Whites and of course the Sonccos.
Keep praying for the Whites as many churches have discontinued their support because of tough times in the States and for Bro. Chris Gardner as he has to be here to raise more support for the college in Arequipa and the many ministries in Peru. Also pray for Bro Jeremy Hall and his new wife Rebecca, who got to go on the trip, who are working hard on deputation to return to Arequipa to be a part of this exciting ministry.
There were comments like : “My life will never be the same”, “Amazing”, “Best time of my life” , “Got to hand out 1000’s of tracts”, “Had the best time preaching in my life”,and ” Great Services”! With all the adversities… all I heard all the way back to Dalton while I was driving the van was praise for what God was doing through our missionaries both in Bolivia and Peru! I thank God for everyone who had the opportunity to go on this trip and all who supported them and back them up with their prayers.
Thank you.
We will have plenty of pictures and more testimonies.
I thank God for our Assistant pastor , Bro. Jason and his wife Rebecca’s leadership in organizing this trip and of course Bro. Mark Coffey for his expert guidance. A couple of folks said that Mark ought to do this full time and that he did a wonderful job in making the trip a life changing experience not only for the team but for the souls that received the Gospel !
Can’t wait until Sunday when we can hear more about the trip!
Andrew had about a 2 hour surgery this morning to assess and clean out the areas of his foot that are showing signs of infection. They will be keeping him for at least one week. They are watching to see how it heals after today’s surgery. Thank you to everyone that is praying and for those that have visited. He is at Gwinnett Medical in Duluth.
God is blessing the work here in great ways. Yesterday I had the privilege to go with 39 people mostly young people to the top of a mountain here and talk about our responsibility to get the gospel to the world.
Today I will be privileged to teach Sunday School and preach in the morning and the evening. I am excited to be here in this very blessed ministry. There remains yet much to be done but there is at least a toe hold now.
I am praying that God will allow them to start more churches and see the gospel extend more and more.
Pray for Andrew Pearson today and also Natasha T. Natasha appears to have some sort of infection and has gone to the ER.
Andrew has had or will be having soon the first of several surgeries on his foot. He and Holly really need our love and prayers right now and I want to thank each of you for how you have been helping them and been a blessing to them.
Pray for me in these last few hours here. I will preach today and travel tomorrow night. Lord willing I will be home on Tuesday morning and then spend some time with Tyler Masters before he flies out to Peru.
Then I have plans to be with my grandkids for a Happy Day celebration. That is the day we celebrate their official adoption date into our family.
God blessed in many ways this week in the Youth Congress here in Santiago, Chile. Several made professions of faith, many others made decisions and got things right with God.
Tonight there were something like 193 people in attendance. Literally the place was packed out and though it was cold outside and in by the time I was half way through preaching I was sweating. That many bodies can sure warm up a place. I have now preached or taught 7 times since Wednesday.
I am having a blast and so very proud of what God is doing in and through our missionaries.
I hope each of you will make plans to visit the mission field every year or at most every two or three years.
Keep praying I am still scheduled to preach, speak, or teach like 4 times and my throat is in pretty rough shape. I will be flying out again on Monday evening and back at my house on Tuesday morning–Lord willing.
On another note Betty is at the Grady emergency room with Andrew and Holly Pearson. We all need to pray that God will work in Andrew’s life and meet their many needs in this moment.
I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish our brother in the Lord a very special congratulations. They are being blessed on two fronts. First Pastor Lawrence is celebrating his 4th anniversary as pastor of the church. You can read what he had to say about it by clicking here.
Also they have begun construction on their new auditorium and we are so very happy for them. God is so good. I want to ask you to pray much for them and their family. Pray for the church and its ministry.
God has been so good sending us Pastor Ronald Tubillas. He is doing a great job in the church and we are so very grateful for him. This past Sunday they celebrated the 2 year anniversary of the Spanish ministry.
God is using the Tubillas family in a special way and we are looking for even more in the future. Thank you for all your hard work.
