Our Pastor has been traveling back from Chile so he has not been able to post lately. I am posting to update you on what is going on with the Students of Vision Peru Trip . I am also posting so that the latest entry is not about me. I have only begun to become an unprofitable servant.
Update on the Medical Clinic by Missionary Julio Soncco
Yesterday was the first day of the Medical Clinic. It was amazing, like something never seen before. People showed up as of 4:30 a.m. to get in line to be seen by the doctors that would start attending at 8 a.m..
People in Need
There were a LOT of people that showed up. They were able to attend to 850 people in one day. The most beautiful part of it all is that 320 people made a profession of faith after hearing the presentation of the gospel.
Medical Team
We are so thankful to Bro. Bradley Edmondson and his wife, whom were in charge of the Medical Team that has been a huge blessing. It has only been the first day, so please be praying that the Lord will continue to bless each and every one that is participating in this event.
Please, pray for Julio Soncco. He is in need of desperate need of a pace maker for his heart. I know you hear of some many needs on the mission field. However, the life of a man of God and the son in law of our Pastor should be very important to us. He has currently raised $3,700 of the $10,000 to $15,000 needed for the operation.
Tonight we will start the Mission Possible Youth Congress. Please, pray that God will speak to the hearts of the teenagers here.

Trent is preaching in Arequipa, Peru right now! God is using him tremendously. Our daughter, Joy, called to let us know just how well he did this morning. She said she was very blessed, impressed, and proud.
I am proud. Do you have any idea the caliber of man that God has given us here at Vision. I hope you will always pray for him. He has one of the most important jobs in our church, reaching the future leaders of world evangelism and our church. I thank God for him.
Be sure and check out his blog and keep up with him while he is in Peru.
Also check out what God is doing in North Africa. It is really unbelievable and I am so proud of how are young people are allowing God to use them.
Also as a side note but it really isn’t I want to thank Mrs. Lori Holt for how kind she has been to me. She has been a tremendous hostess and done so much that I am embarrassed to have received so much undeserved hospitality. Thank you Lori. Check out the video and see and hear from Jason and Lori.

Well it started off great this morning when I talked to Travis Snode and heard how God had blessed them. They were in the new rented building and heading towards their Celebration Sunday in September. Please be praying for Northwest Baptist Church!
Then we went to church with Jason and Lori Holt and God blessed them with 103 in the service and 7 salvation decisions. God is truly using them in a great way and they are the best of hosts.
I still haven’t heard from Peru but I am sure that Chris and Andria had over 400. David and Katie are there with a group from the states as well as Jeremy Hall. Our Youth Pastor Trent Cornwell is also in Peru with 4 of our people getting ready to preach in the youth Congress.
Then from the Jason’s church I called Betty and heard that we had 90 in Sunday School and 134 in church. That is with 1 very faithful worker in Tennessee, 5 in Peru, and 5 in Chile. What a great day. I thank God for Tony Howeth and his willingness to serve all the time and do such a great job.
It has been great to be here in Chile with John and Sandy Pearson and to always learn more of their heart for God and the ministry. It was great to see Kristen and Kathryn sing today in English and then watch as Kristen helped with the piano all week.
I am very blessed and thank God for all of you and all that you do. I can’t wait till we can all get back together and see what God is going to do in and through Vision Baptist Church for the rest of the year.
More later.

John Pearson has really knocked it out of the park again with an article on Becoming a Major Donor. All of us should learn how to give. We should all be seeking to allow God to make us givers like He is a giver. Be sure and click on the link and read the article.

Well I am tired but satisfied. I am here in Chile with Jason and Lori Holt as you know. The Pearsons are here as well.
The Holts are doing a great job. The church is growing. The Youth Congress has been a great time. Both John and I have preached each night–you know that John learned Spanish well enough to preach in Spanish each time that we are on these trips!! I think that means that lots of others could do the same!
We got here on Wednesday and preached that night. Then on Thursday morning we spent about 2 hours teaching and preaching to about 50 young people. That night we preached at the Youth Congress again. This morning I spent about 2.5 hours preaching to several pastors from the area. We had a great time.
Then tonight was the last service and it was a good time. God blessed and I thank Him very much. It is after midnight and the house is quiet but I wanted to type a note to all of you because I really enjoy this little way of spending some time with you. I wanted you to know of God’s blessings here.
I am so excited that we have a church that is so given to the Lord Jesus Christ and His cause. Right now we have 5 members visiting and working here in Peru. We also have at least 4 from our church in Arequipa with 5 more of our folks (Chris and Andria and family). I am glad that you are excited about world evangelism and spreading the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I am also hearing good reports from those that are back home. I thank Tony Howeth for preaching Thursday night. He is such a great preacher. We are blessed and honored to have him carry so much of the load at the church. I hear some new converts are really excited about doing something for God
I hear that the Spanish church and Pastor Ronald will be baptizing this Sunday and that several of the English church will be getting baptized the next Sunday. God is so good to us!
Well I was just sitting here thinking of how good we have it at Vision Baptist Church. We are a new church but He has poured out His richest blessings on us. Thank you for all you do.
Also I wanted to ask you to get busy inviting your friends and neighbors to be with us this Sunday. You can mark it down that Tony will have a great message. I think he will be preaching about the Lamb of God. I can promise you that you will not want to miss it.
I am so proud of my family and the work that they are doing in Arequipa. Right now our oldest daughter is with her family and church working in Mexico on a short term mission’s trip. The other three, Chris, Joy, and David are in Arequipa hosting and working with a group of about 100. I am so proud of their hard work. I know what it is like to host groups. Betty and I did it for 18 years but this is the largest group we ever had. They are wonderful and Betty and I are so blessed to have children that love God and are serving Him with all that is within them.
Well I will let you go but I wanted you to know that though I am tired that I am very satisfied. God is blessing our church and the missionaries that we support. It is wonderful to serve God. Thank Him and thank you.

Well I am sitting here in Santiago, Chile at 12:15 in the morning. Everyone just went to bed and so I can do just a little work and then I read a letter from Trent about what you guys are seeing and doing in Arequipa and I wanted to tell you that we love you and are praying for you. I am so very proud of all of you. God is going to let you see some great things.
Know this. You are seeing the future of Vision Baptist Church. In 1988 when we arrived in Arequipa none of that was there. God allowed us to see and be part of a great work. He sent Betty and me back to the states to do it there. You are on the team. You are part of the Vision. What you see there is what is going to happen in Alpharetta. Come back charged up and ready to do it again.
Sorry for the late night big talking head but I just wanted to talk to you. I can’t wait to meet with all of you in my office and hear about what God is doing and will do in your lives in Peru.
