Forgiveness, the things we won’t do!

I want to invite you to read a very interesting article that came out in World Magazine.  Forgiveness is tough work.  It is very difficult to learn to forgive and this article really does a good job of explaining that.  Check it out by clicking here.  The first paragraph is found right here but you will have to click on the link to read the rest.

Forgiving is the hardest thing you will ever do. That’s why most people don’t do it. We talk about it, cheer for it, preach on it, and are sure we’ve practiced it. But mostly the illusion of having forgiven is that the passage of time dulls memory. The ruse will come to light with hair-trigger vengeance when fresh offense hurls in to empty out the gunnysack of half-digested grievances.

Urgent prayer request from Jason Holt!

This just came in from Jason Holt.  I really want us to help him in any way that we can.
God has performed a miracle!  We have just received confirmation that the ideal piece of land only 100 yards from our church is up for sale.  I spoke personally with the owner and he has several businesses already seriously interested.  Beyond our understanding, he is allowing us the first option on the land.  He is Catholic and believes that offering us the land will better his relationship with God.  He has also agreed to terms that allow us some time to raise the funds.

This week, we will pay $4000.00 US as a deposit.  We then have 90 days to raise the remaining $62,000.00 US.  The total cost of the land is $66,000.00 US, which is an exceptional price.  This land is situated on a corner lot of two main avenues.

Yes, this is a considerable amount of money.  And yes, we have very little time to get the money together.  But we believe that God has opened this door of opportunity and that He will provide every cent!  Will you please pray about what God would have you give for this project?  No gift is too small!

Please send offerings/donations to:

Macedonia World Baptist Missions
P. O. Box 519
Braselton, GA 30517
c/o Holt building fund

Also, due to the time restrictions, please notify us via email at holt@biblicalmissions.com  if you are sending an offering.  This will enable us to keep track of the progress.  If you would like further details, please call us at 770-456-5614 or email us.  There are several details we would love to share with you to further explain why this is such an awesome opportunity.

Thank you in advance for your prayers and sacrifices.

Jason Holt

Wonderfully blessed day with Matthew’s Banquet

Thank you for praying for this wonderful day!  Thank you for inviting people and for working so hard.  Here is just a small report about what God did today.  In Sunday School we had 121 and for the AM service and banquet we had a total of 181.  The Spanish service with Pastor Ronald Tubillas had 30 in attendance which was a record day for them also.  Of the 181 this morning more than 75 were from minorities and other cultures, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Kenya, Jamaican, Turkish, Kurdish, African American, and others that I am sure that I am forgetting.  That was our dream from the beginning, to be a church for all people.

3 people were saved in the Spanish service and one was saved in the English service.  Two people joined as you will read in the previous post.  It was a wonderful day.

Thanks to this wonderful attendance our averages are up for this month.  August Sunday school average was 63 and September ended up being 75.25.  The AM service averaged 81.75 in August and September ended with 107.75.  Sunday evening in August we averaged 58 and September ended with 61 as our average.  God has blessed in ways that we can’t explain and has been so good to us.

Our church came together like never before and worked together for God’s honor and glory.  God showed Himself, His power, and was glorified.  That is our deepest desire.  Thank God for a wonderful day!

Pray for Steve Wallace

Steve is in the North Fulton Hospital in the CCU.  On Friday, September 22, 2006, Steve’s sugar or gluclose reading went to 1450 which is extremely high.  His blood pressure was very low.  Steve and Shawna are wonderful people and desperately need your prayers right now.  Today things are better but Steve is still hurting and will be in CCU for several more days.  Please pray that God give the doctors wisdom and will heal Steve and get him back home to his family.

Jason Holt needs a miracle in Chile!

santiago

Jason is doing a tremendous job in Santiago, Chile.  I would like to ask you to pray seriously about what you could do to help.  Please pray for them.

We have been praying for several months that God would open some door of opportunity for our church to buy a building.  We are currently renting a building that has limited space.  We praise the Lord that the church is steadily growing, and soon we will be out of room.

In our area it would cost over a quarter of a million dollars to get a 1,000 sq. meter lot (I think that’s about a ½ acre).  Needless to say, we have put that option on hold!   But, we can purchase two connected houses (about 400 sq. meters in total) for about 50,000-60,000 dollars.  The problem is that it is very difficult to find two connected house for sale… on a main avenue… within a close proximity of our current location… for an affordable price.  Basically we need God to do a miracle!

Just a few days ago, we found out that less than 100 yards from our current location a man is going to sell a 575 square meter CORNER LOT that has two houses on it.  The lot is on the corner of the intersection of the two main avenues in our area!!

This would be three times the size of our current location!

He wants to sell near the end of the year for 40 million pesos ($76,000).

Please pray that God will have his way in the following areas:

The man will decide 100% to sell the property – he is making the decision now

That we could raise $80,000 – we would need about $5,000 to remodel the facility

That we will have grace when we talk to the owner.  God willing next week a man from our church will be contacting him to discuss the possibility.

I have $2,000 currently saved for a new building, and the church here in Chile, God willing, will have over $2,500 raised by the end of November.

We need a miracle!!

ArabicBible.com

 plaza

Last night I had the opportunity to meet and spend some time with some very special men.  These men are giving their all to get the gospel to the Arabic Muslim world and that weighs heavily on our hearts.  Here is a note about the man I met pulled off of a web page telling about a conference that he is about to speak in:

Michael is founder/Executive Director of Arabic Bible Outreach Ministries. Born in Beirut, Lebanon, he came to faith in Christ during the Lebanese civil wars. He has used his background in computer science to develop an internet outreach that daily caters to thousands of readers in the Arab world.

I thank God for men like Michael who have such a burden to get the gospel to the world.  Please be in prayer for this ministry and be sure to look it over at the following link:  arabicbible.com

Especially take the time to check out Seven Suggestions For Witnessing To Muslims and also - Why We Christians Should Love Muslims

God loves Muslims as much as He loves anyone.  It is our responisbility to pray for them and to try to tell them about the salvation that we have in Jesus Christ.
